Lincoln Financial On-The-Fly Box
Lincoln Financial Field's On the Fly express shops revolutionize stadium concessions with seamless, frictionless technology for a faster, smarter shopping experience.
On-The-Fly
Lincoln Financial Field is a football stadium located in South Philadelphia and has a seating capacity of over 69k. Since opening in 2003, the venue has hosted the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles and the Temple Owls of Temple University, as well as Army-Navy football games, Major League Soccer games, NCAA Lacrosse and numerous other events. The design of the stadium is meant to evoke the team's namesake eagle with wing-like canopies above the east and west stands and the Eagle's Nest balcony beyond the north end-zone.
Revolutionizing Concessions with AI and NFC Technology
We worked in collaboration with the venue’s team, Verizon, and AiFi to create a new concept in their On the Fly express shops. Guests visiting the On the Fly shops pay via NFC reader at the entrance, then select what they want to purchase and exit. While they shop, overhead cameras throughout the store use AI technology to track the items they pick up, put back, and choose to take. Payment is automatically processed on their way out.

“We always strive to offer a best-in-class experience at Lincoln Financial Field... Leveraging industry-leading technology and communication services to build out the new ‘On the Fly’ Express Shops will create a more seamless and efficient shopping experience at the stadium.”
Redefining Convenience with Cashier-Less Technology
Speed, convenience, and quality were top priority in creating this frictionless experience. These two cashier-less concessions stores—located on the main concourse and in Pepsi Plaza—use new technology to offer an innovative experience for fans. The store also provides useful insights into shopper behavior and supply chain management, allowing the operators to tailor their service to better serve fans and use resources efficiently.
